Connie is best known for her role as Tami Taylor in Friday Night Lights and appearences in 24 and the 90's show Spin City. She also appeared on the big screen in movies such as Nightmare on Elm Street, The Last Winter and Women in Trouble.
Alright so this morning at the ATX TV Festival there was an FNL Cast Diaries Panel. The whole premise was that they would show a video clip from various episodes and then the cast members that were present and in the clip would talk about that particular scene, episode, day of shooting etc. Well David Hudgins introduced the people that had already announced they’d be attending Louanne Stephens, Scott Porter, Matt Lauria, Brad Leland and Gaius Charles and they all sat down but there were two seats in the middle empty which got me to thinking. I figured they were bringing in two more cast members I just wasn’t sure of who it would be (obviously I was rooting for Connie & Kyle just because who doesn’t want to see Mr & Mrs Coach together again?) Anyway they then showed a seen from Mud Bowl where Tami & Eric are out in the field talking about what they could do for the game. When it ended obviously all of the audience is like why did you show a clip of two people that aren’t here (and I’m over here about to bust thinking PLEASE DON’T LET THIS BE SOME SORT OF SICK TWISTED JOKE CAUSE I NEED TO SEE CONNIE AND KYLE IN PERSON). Then David announced that they had a special surprise for us and out walked Connie and Kyle. The whole room erupted in applause and screams (a number of the screams coming from me and my mom) and the entire room stood as they came out (because of the king and queen that they are). They took their seats and the panel proceeded with all the cast talking about a bunch of different scenes and answering fan questions (the first one actually came from Mae Whitman from Parenthood who was fangirling in the audience with us). Fun fact: Connie Britton improvised the line “You’re an idiot” during the scene when Coach Taylor finds Matt & Julie on the couch with a blanket and it caused the two of them to burst into unstoppable laughter for almost 15 minutes after the scene ended.
